Complex aroma, deep. Ripe fruit, tobacco and light floral notes. Dense and complex in the mouth with very integrated and elegant tannins.
Complex Aroma, mineral, white pulp fruits, peach, lemon peel. Powerful, structurated, balanced, with volume and a refreshing finish.
This is a great Rosé different from the “normal” rosés, with reserve characteristics, offering a reddish color and complex and complete aromas. In the mouth, a dry wine where you can notice a slight sweetness at the beginning that fades, giving way to milder flavors and with some persistence. It is perfect to accompany foods with different flavors such as Sushi, Mullets, salads, and being a gastronomic wine it should be served between 6ºC and 8ºC for maximum enjoyment and tasting.
JOA Wine is not only made from centuries-old vineyards with more than twenty different grape varieties. It is the harsh winters and the merciless sun of the Alto Transmontano that, without giving a break to the land, compel it to free from shale the best they have to offer our grapes. From the grapes to the only wine produced in this region, there is a distance between tradition and innovation. Between the knowledge of generations and the best oenological practices of the last generation. Between the future and the memory preserved in the people of Aldeia de Parada: heart, cradle and soul of Casa do Joa. It is for all these reasons that a JOA wine is much more than a wine. It is a living memory of this land and a genuine declaration of our Love on Alto.
ALTO DO JOA Branco is a tanning wine (Orange Wine), singular and unique, typically reserve, offering a more austere and complex aroma that proves to be dry, fresh and persistent, with a very present acidity so it should be drunk among 10ºc and 12ºc, positioning it as a guard wine with excellent evolution in bottle, as well as a gastronomic wine, accompanying very spicy and singular meals such as cheese, kid, suckling pig, cabidela rice, among others. Without added yeast, enzymes or sulphites, protected with chestnut extract , this is the most organic JOA ever produced, thanks to the unique properties of our chestnut trees. An authentic wine, with low degradation and indisputable quality due to the way it knows how to respect the grape as it appears in nature. A unique wine, the result of passion and innovation, made from JOA. TERROIR: Soil with a large presence of shale, high temperature range, altitude 800m, there are centennial vineyards over one hundred and twenty years old, pre-phylloxera and many on open ground. Presence of indigenous yeasts. AGEING: 21 months in used barrels
A young red wine, full bodied, of a well built and elegant character. Yes, it is young, however mature. With an aromatic bouquet, with hints of matured fruits and red berries, scented by the sun recalling fresh jam. When in the glass, it reveals a bright rich and consistent Violet color. Its palate is fruity and dry, with soft tannins, a well balanced acidity and a light body which gives it a soft ending. It’s a wine to let rest in the bottle, or simply follow its evolution through time....and enjoy its growth.
An excellent red wine, of a strong character, distinguished by the unique wine varieties Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon. Has an intense and aromatic bouquet, with hints of matured and macerated fruit and of dry plum. When in the glass, it is dense and oleaginous. Has an intense and robust palate which completes us with satisfaction. It’s supplemented with round tannins, and a long-lasting, lingering and velvety ending. It’s a wine to age and mature by our side, rejoicing our life with verve and enjoying of what will always be a great wine.
JÁ TE DISSE (I already told you) is a wine of limited production and of superior quality, with a lot of manual intervention in the vineyard and little correction in the cellar. The harvest is carried out manually and at dawn, to maintain all its natural freshness. JÁ TE DISSE, after the fermentation process, it is matured for around 16 months in new French oak barrels, raising its quality level. This is a great wine that ages and appreciates in a numbered, limited edition bottle of which, in 2019, only 2,500 units were produced.
After 14 months of aging in new French oak barrels, only 3,200 bottles were produced. This special edition has an opaque violet color, with aromas of ripe fruit and spices. In the mouth it is broad, dense and silky, with mature tannins and a persistent finish, revealing its full aging potential.
Golden in color and a complex aroma of white flowers and notes of apricot. It is a dry, gastronomic wine, with volume in the mouth and its flavor takes us to an orchard of fresh fruits, some citrus fruits, leaving the feeling of the very freshness of an Alentejo morning, with an almost endless finish.
Violet-ruby, concentrated, intense aroma, black fruit aromas, balsamic and some tobacco, in the mouth offers a round, full-bodied attack with round tannins and good persistence.
Toast and elegant smoke, dried prune, light vanilla. Thin in the mouth, very polished tannins, medium body but full of presence and intention, fruit and barrel in harmony, long finish and spicy
This exceptional vintage offer an intense and deep aroma, with hints of crushed berries, wild fruit jams, spices and minerals. Voluminous, with fruit, tannins and perfectly integrated acidity . A broad, vigorous and very long finish.
Strong violet hues, with notes of ripe black fruits (blueberries, plums) is the special signature of the 2009 vintage. The nose is enriched by smoky aromas. It is a full-bodied and voluminous wine. Its well defined tannins offer a great ageing potential. A wine worth waiting for.
A white wine that evokes old aromas and flavours, which intends to reverence the vine from where the grapes came from and pay homage to the family members who planted it, over a hundred years ago. A blend of Síria, Folgazão, Gouveio, Trincadeira Branca, Malvasia Fina, Malvasia Rei, Rabigato and Carrega Branco grape varieties from a single vineyard parcel called “Coitadinha”.
A white wine from a historic Douro variety, with great traditions in the Upper Douro, where it is very common in old vineyards and gives rise to wines with great personality. It was born in a 48-year-old vineyard in Numão, at an altitude of 450 metres, with several grape varieties mixed together, but where all the Rabigato strains were harvested separately.
This is a tribute to ancient viticulture and oenology, where red, white and pink grape varieties were planted, picked and vinified together. It evokes medieval aromas and flavours, which still persist in some villages of the Upper Douro, such as Numão. Blend of grape varieties Síria, Rabigato, Bastardo, Rufete, Casculho and Marufo. Natural clarification, ageing in stainless steel vats and light filtration before bottling.
Straw color very light. Passionate aroma with citrus notes, predominating the grapefruit and the clementine. In the mouth is very silky and greedy.
A small wonder of the Douro region that will enchant you with its freshness and its fruity flavor. A 100% Touriga Nacional, the star grape of Portugal with a flexible nature and a beautiful structure. Balanced and fresh. Long finish with floral presence that will follow to the end.
Michel Chapoutier's new wine, created in Douro at Dos Lusíadas, is a blend of indigenous Alto Douro varieties, such as Rabigato, Gouveio, Códega do Larinho. It was produced by Michel Chapoutier, who arrived in the Douro in 2009 and upon seeing a geology very similar to that of Vallée du Rhône had a clear vision of producing wines from a small plot of three hectares.
A clear colour, deep black with sustained crimson highlights. The nose is powerful, showing dark fruit at first, along with some “garrigue” and spicy notes. Aromas of fruit (cherries, prunes) macerated in “eau de vie” can also be detected. The whole is underpinned by mineral notes (graphite) that bring a great deal of freshness. Palate: big and full on the mouth: Big and full on the palate supported by impressive velvety structure. There’s flesh, weight and depth, all rounded off by an incredibly long finish. The dark fruit comes through again, giving a crisp sensation underpinned by nice mineral tautness that endows this wine with freshness and remarkable balance. Mature from. Another great achievement from Michel Chapoutier in Portugal.
The wine is still evolving since the last tasting held. Good notes of ripe fruit, slightly spicy and with a hint of wood (vanilla). Soft in the tasting and with rounder tannins, providing a tasting with great pleasure. Long finish, persistent, precise. A big surprise!
Bottled in honor of Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, this is a unique wine, made from a vineyard in Rio Torto mostly planted in the 1940s, traditionally planted as a field blend of more than 30 grape varieties. A very rare wine, only bottled in exceptional years, and in very small quantities (4.358 bottles).
Red color with an intense and dark purple hue. Aromas of ripe fruits such as plum, very well integrated. Aromatic persistence with evident evolution in the glass. Dry and robust with a structured body, good acidity, soft and balanced. Super-ripe cherry and raspberry jam fruits. Rich mid-palate with good volume, balsamic notes and well-integrated tannins. Pleasant and very long final persistence. Typical Douro blend of a powerful and intense wine.
For the first time at the "Dos Lusíadas" estate, Michel Chapoutier has harvested the white grapes of the new wine, Eleivera, on August 17, 2017. These white grapes Rabigato, Gouveio, Códega do Larinho and Viosinho present a beautiful tension and intense floral aromas. The vineyards of Cima Corgo, in the Douro, are planted mainly on granitic arenas more or less deep, which gives a wine that shows character and tension in the mouth. One of the plots is composed of schist, which adds smoothness to this assemblage. Summers are hot and dry and winters are cold and wet
This is an irreverent wine in essence, obtained from a careful selection of the best grapes from our vineyards and through the blend of grapes from old vines and young vines. Gifted with an intense color, it shows a bouquet with notes of red fruits and wood tones. In the mouth it's round and velvety, with balanced acidity, firm and persistent tannins, in surrounded by smoke and mystery.
This is a garnet color symphony that joins the Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz and Syrah grape varieties, with tones of ripe fruit and jam. The palate is soft but intense, with some mineral, with light notes of spices envolved in oak and mystery. This resounding and epicurian wine will proudly pair with any kind of dish.

Fruit of his youth and sensual ballet between Arinto and Chardonnay grapes, the wine reveals itself on a pas-de-deux with cheerful dishes, tasty roasts, cheese or ceviche.
