The white Pessac-Léognan 2006 is one of Bordeaux's finest white wines. It has a beautiful yellow and gold appearance, with notes of white and hazelnut flowers, with hints of fresh peach in the mouth. It is a tasty and charming wine.
The Château Carbonnieux 2008 has a splendid nose, both ripe and very elegant.
Château Haut-Plantade extends over an area of 10.5 hectares, located in the oldest wine-growing region of Bordeaux, in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation and close to the most prestigious wineries in Léognan (Domaine de Chevalier, Château Malartic-Lagravière and Château de Fieuzal).
"This is a strong vintage for Bordeaux's dry white wines, probably as good or better than 2005. Crisp acidity combined with outstanding concentration and the fact that most of the white grapes were harvested before the rains began in mid-September resulted in an impressive group of wines." Robert Parker – 93 points
This vintage is one of the oldest from the very old soil of Graves. It is located on a high point of the commune of Léognan, composed of a gravelly slightly inclined soil towards the North-West, and perfectly drained.
The wine is characterized by the harmony between the very soft and very fine structure and the complex aroma given by the soil of the Graves. The wine has great charm. It will be possible to drink it in the next few years but it really should be kept. It will age remarkably.
93-94 points James Suckling A very spicy and bright white with intense white peach, grapefruit and mineral character. Full body, crisp acidity. Beautiful. One of the best Carbonnieux of all time.
