Bold, ripe and almost flashy, showing good drive and vivacity, with fresh acidity pumping the boysenberry, steeped plum and raspberry fruit along while a roasted apple wood note fills in the finish. Drink now through 2018. From Baron Edmond de Rothschild. Wine Spectator 90 Points
Following the acquisition of the Château des Laurets in 2003, Baron Benjamin de Rothschild wanted to reveal the fabulous potential of this estate through investments in facilities and increased attention to all wine-making practices. Thanks to its efforts, since the 2004 vintage, on the 90 hectares of vines that the property comprises, only 4 hectares have been selected among the best parcels of Merlot to produce the quintessence of the estate. A cuvée of excellence was born under the name: "LAURETS - BARON EDMOND DE ROTHSCHILD".
